The Trump Trumpet: Recapping the President’s Results. I will use The Trump Trumpet idea to highlight President Trump’s accomplishments over the last 45 months as president. This post and those that follow will set forth the many ways that President Trump has positively affected the affairs of America.
I have written in past posts that President Trump has been more consequential and productive than the four presidents who preceded him. Of those four presidents, two were Democrats (Messrs. Clinton and Obama), and two were Republicans (Bush 41 and Bush 43). Any objective comparative analysis will demonstrate the truth of the lead sentence of this paragraph.
In future posts, I will present President Trump’s achievements in the following areas: The American Economy, The Relationship With China, America’s Foreign Policy, America’s Trade Relationships, The Federal Judiciary, America’s Military Readiness, Border Security & Immigration, Support for America’s Veterans, Law & Order, Deregulation, National Security, Energy Independence. Let me start with America’s economy for this post.
The American Economy
I can comment factually on only the economy before the Corona Virus reared its ugly head. Before the national shutdown, the American economy began to boom in mid-2017 and continued up to the shutdown in the first quarter of 2020. During his first 36 months, President Trump championed tax reform, energy independence, and the return of manufacturing jobs. As a result, the stock market soared, GDP growth ramped up, and unemployment dropped below four percent. Four percent for unemployment was considered structural employment for the American economy.
President Trump made it look extremely easy and he can do so again because he is a doer. He has a bias for action and results. Establishment politicians are not doers; they focus on talk, not action.
All we have to do is unleash American businesses from the wrongheaded policies and political nonsense of centralized, bureaucratic government and establishment politicians. It is that simple.
