Ten Questions: A Personal Development Challenge

Personal development and becoming a lifelong learner are two of the keys to achieving success in life and business.  I have listed ten questions below that can be used as a personal development challenge.  They are also thought-starters for life change.

The Questions

1.  What ten books have influenced you the most or have had the greatest effect on your life and how have they influenced you?

 2. What ten persons have had the greatest influence on your life and how have they influenced you?

3. What ten personal development ideas or concepts have changed your life or have had the greatest influence on you and how and why?

 4. What are your ten favorite inspirational or thought-provoking quotes?

5. What have been the ten most important decisions you have made in your life and why were they important?

6. What ten achievements or accomplishments would you like to be remembered for and why?

7. What are the ten most important life lessons or life skills you have learned or acquired?

 8. What are ten aspects of life that make you happy and why?

9. What ten actions could you start doing tomorrow that would make the most difference in your life or have the greatest impact on your future? And, of even greater importance, why are you not doing them?

10. What are your ten most important beliefs, qualities, values, or competencies?

The Challenge

Here is the challenge for you. It has four parts. First, I encourage you to answer the questions in writing, not just think about them. Ideally, write the answers in your journal. Second, I encourage you to send this list of questions to friends and families. You may add to the list of questions if you wish. Third, please send me the answers to Questions 1, 3, 4, 7, and 10, if you are comfortable in doing so because I would like to collect those answers and provide a follow-up article to this post. Finally, send a text or email message to the 10 persons whom you named in Question 2 and thank them for their help, assistance, motivation, etc. Even better, call them on your cell phone or visit them in person to thank them.
