Happiness Is A Journey Not A Destination

Happiness is a journey, not a destination. This sentence is the essence of living a happy life.

Happiness is not a constant state of being that once achieved stays with us forever. Such a state of nature is impossible to achieve. If we are happy all the time, then we would probably not appreciate it. We need challenges and obstacles in our lives to overcome, so that we can become stronger, better, wiser, and even richer too. Richer, maybe not in terms of money, but in knowledge, experiences, skills, and so much more.

For me, life is all about doing two simple things every day. Anyone can focus on these two actions as well. First, I strive to become the best possible person I can be, by working harder on myself than I do on anything else. Second, I try to do as much good as I can. This second point is perhaps far easier than the first.

Working on ourselves takes commitment, discipline, and self-awareness. And, we have to continuously fight our ego, which tends to resist such change.

Conversely, doing as much good as we can each day is quite simple and straightforward. Because every day, we can be more courteous, kind, and compassionate towards everyone we meet, especially in these unusual times. Here is another call to action for everyone.

A Simple Call To Action For Everyone

Strive to eliminate blaming, complaining, and negativity from your life. And eliminate gossip from your life as well. Negativity is poisonous, to say the least, and gossip is not much better. As Will Rogers once opined, “Never miss an opportunity to keep your mouth shut.”
