Understanding The Importance Of The Bell Curve In Business And Life

Length: 189 Words Reading Time: 1 Minute

The Bell Curve or Normal Distribution is an important concept to understand in business and life.  This understanding is true from at least one critical perspective, among others.

The normal distribution is a curve in statistics that divides the population of any reasonable size in a company or organization into two halves. The right tail of the curve includes those individuals who are above average. The left tail comprises those individuals who are below average.  The normal distribution demonstrates that 50% of the individuals in a company or organization are below average.  That is not going to change, nor can it be changed.  Therefore, you always want to be in the right tail and as far to the right as possible.
