Two Ways Forward For Tomorrow’s America

I see two primary ways forward for tomorrow’s America.  There are probably other permutations of these two, but these two are paramount.  Moreover, their primacy is exemplified by the actions taken by the Federal Government and the policies put in place over the last two years, starting in March 2020.  Concurrently with the lockdowns, we experienced the vastly expanded adoption and use of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology in the world of finance and money.

The Ways Forward

The first way forward is the ever-increasing growth in centralized power that we have undergone in America.  The global pandemic shutdowns or lockdowns reinforced this escalating shift towards centralized power.  Of course, the various global institutions played their role in these policies and mandates, institutions such as the World Health Organization, the central banks of the key countries, and private organizations like the World Economic Forum and GAVI. But, unfortunately, these organizations were not acting in the best interests of the world’s population.

The other way forward is 180 degrees from the first.  This way forward is the radical decentralization of political, economic, and monetary power globally.  The foundation for this tectonic shift comprises two elements.  The first is the rise, adoption, and use of cryptocurrencies (and blockchain technology) as stores of value, mediums of exchange, and transactional systems.  The second is a return to a true free market system throughout the world and the total elimination of the crony capitalism systems that have arisen in America, China, and other countries.

The Possible Outcomes

The ever-increasing growth of centralized power will eventually lead to a police or totalitarian state and a dystopian society.  This way forward will be abetted by emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and surveillance systems in the name of public safety and security.  Consequently, I view centralized power or the love of power as the eighth deadly sin.

The decentralization of power and the democratization of money will lead to sound money.  All countries or nations, regardless of status or development, will trust and rely on this form of money.  Moreover, this sound money will become the foundation for just and free societies around the world, for the first time in the history of humanity.

This latter way forward will not happen easily or quickly, of course.  However, based on my recent experience and research, I have come to recognize that the three generations, after the Boomers, see the world through different eyes.  They see the decentralization of power and the democratization of money as a way to achieve their personal goals and to create the future world they wish to live in.

All of us are faced with a war or social conflict between centralized power and decentralized power.  I stand with the second way forward (decentralization and democratization).  Each of us has to make a choice and the choice we make is of great consequence for future generations.
